Haas Name Study

Privacy Level: Public (Green)

Surnames/tags: Haas Haasen
This page has been accessed 1,202 times.

Goals:

The goal of this project is to find every non-living person with this surname and make a wikitree profile for them. We have found this surname in Germany, but also in St. Petersburg Florida, where there was at one time the "Haas Museum" , a Victorian style house, furnished with Victorian era furnishing. The Haas Family may have been pioneers to Pinellas County, Florida in the 1800s. We would like to find their ancestors in Germany and all their descendants who came to the United States and elsewhere in the world, and connect the families.

Thank you for allowing me to be on the trusted list for this project. My connection to the Haas family is through my Great Grandmother Jennie M Haas, the daughter of Christian Friedrich Haas and Alice Isabel Davis. What I am hoping to obtain is past my current brock wall of my 5th GGP's on this line. Right now I have Johann Heinrich Haas as my 5th GGF, I have his listed date of birth and death showing he only lived into late 30's. I would like to be able to speak with someone who has more knowledge of this line of my ancestors.

Regards, Kevin York

Please add me to your study. My great Oma was born Haas and I have traced her family to Germany before 1800s.

Does "Haas" also subsume "Haase"? Our family-history book has a Julius Haase, "Kommerzienrat in Dresden" (married into the family in Dresden on 8/21/1912); and a Gottlob Siegismund Haase, "Privatlehrer in Frankenberg, 1811 Rektor der dortigen Knabenschule" (married into the family likely in the later 1700s, and died in 1816).
